Appointments

We request that all Registered patients make appointments. Our standard appointment time is 10 - 15 minutes, however longer appointments are available. If you expect or require a longer appointment please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment.

Urgent problems will always be seen, but not necessarily with your preferred doctor.

Our doctors do their best to keep to appointment times. Sometimes patients take longer than anticipated and emergencies occur, which can delay scheduled appointment times. For these reasons our receptionists are very happy for you to phone prior to your appointment to check if there is a wait time for your appointment.

To book an appointment with your GP click the BOOK NOW button or click here.

Home Visits

When necessary these are usually scheduled mostly after hours for our Registered patients. Please contact the clinic and speak with the nurse and she will discuss your needs with your doctor. Please note home visits will incur an extra fee.

Repeat Prescriptions

Registered patients can email script@medicross.co.nz to request repeats of regular prescriptions. Please provide:

  • The name of your registered GP at MediCross
  • Your date of birth
  • Your address
  • Your telephone number
  • Details of each medication including medication name, dose and frequency taken

Should you wish for a return receipt please enable this function in your email system. Also ensure script@medicross.co.nz is labelled as 'Not Spam'.

Please allow a minimum of four days for your prescription to be completed by your doctor. Over the weekend or a long weekend, emails will not be checked until the following working day.

Every three months, or every second repeat, an appointment will need to be made to see your GP to review medications. This will be a normal consultation charge. In some instances you may be advised to come in for review earlier.

There will be a charge for your prescription when it is picked up, also a charge for your prescription to be faxed to your pharmacy.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our GP nurse.

Blood Test Results

We do not notify of normal results but you will be notified of any abnormal results by your doctor or nurse. For any normal results we can notify you via text message or you can also phone the practice and speak to the nurse about your results 3 - 5 working days after your tests have been performed.

Other Test Results

Other investigations take longer to receive, please allow 10 working days. Your doctor or nurse will notify you of any results that need to be followed up or further investigation. For normal results you may phone the clinic and speak to the nurse. Please remember to allow 10 working days.

Recalls

Our practice has a recall system for health promotion, prevention and assisting in management of chronic disease. Please advise the nurse if you would like your name removed from this programme. We also participate in National Cervical Screening and Mammography programmes for eligible patients.

We have a texting service available which enables us to give information. If you would like to receive text notification please inform your doctor or nurse.

It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure this information is only available to authorised members of staff. Information will only be released to another party with your written permission.
